How silly of verizon

So I've been having some issues with my cellphone, and I called verizon to get them sorted out. The tech asked for another number to call me on so we could troubleshoot the phone, so I gave her my magicjack number and hung the cellphone. I had forgotten about the call forwarding so when she called back she told me to try and replace the battery, but first I had to disable the call forwarding. So I did all that and then waited for her to call my MJ number, but nothing came through. She calls me back on my cellphone and says it wasn't even ringing at all. I told her it was a VoIP line and she said that was why, and that I would need a landline for them to call me on.

What gives? If everyone else can call my magicjack number, whether it be from a landline or a cellphone, why can't verizon? My guess is they say you "need a landline" so they can sell one to you, and they purposely don't allow their call centers to call VoIP numbers so they can push a landline on you.

Anyone have any other thoughts?

that is insane. what reasoning could there be to be unable to call a voip line?

It's also hogwash, because the first call (the successful one) had to flow through MJ's switch to get back out to your cell phone. This means that VZW's part of both the first and second call were identical.
