Available in 30 days.
Anyone know what the average wait time for area codes labeled as "AVAILABLE IN 30 DAYS." Almost 2 months for 219.

When I was thinking of joining, it said area code 718 will be AVAILABLE IN 30 DAYS, on the website, so I waited 2 month and nothing, so I decided to join and use another area code, so I register and BEHOLD! area code 718 was available.
My point, dont believe the website areacode listing to much since they dont update it as much as they should.

You can always change your number and area code
I have not tried it my self... but you can always go to http://my.magicjack.com and select a new area code and phone number. According to the site, your allowed one change for free and each change after is $ 10 USD.rickiev wrote:When I was thinking of joining, it said area code 718 will be AVAILABLE IN 30 DAYS, on the website, so I waited 2 month and nothing, so I decided to join and use another area code, so I register and BEHOLD! area code 718 was available.

Strange - I've had a 718 area code for almost a year now. Maybe they ran out of numbers in 718 at some point but they've previously been available.rickiev wrote:When I was thinking of joining, it said area code 718 will be AVAILABLE IN 30 DAYS, on the website, so I waited 2 month and nothing, so I decided to join and use another area code, so I register and BEHOLD! area code 718 was available.

*POOF*
After waiting several months for 219, the damn thing completely disappeared. If the man can't get it, OK. But to dangle the "Available in 30 days" carrot is just wrong. Thanks, Dan.
I am SO glad I didn't fall for the 5 year deal.

MJ can only offer numbers in places where their supplier, YMAX, can obtain them. As of now, YMAX has no presence in 219 and none in the pipeline in the immediate future. This indicates that they were unable to accommodate MJ's request for numbers in that Area Code.
In the scheme of things, I have a hard time attributing this particular failure to MJ.
