High pitched noise during call

High pitched noise during call
During a call (both incoming & out going) I have this high oitched noise in the background. It also can be heard by caller. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem, PLEASE HELP. I've had major problems, but finally have them all fixed except this one. I've searched everywhere & can't find solution on my own. Thank you very much.

Thank you for your reply, now that you mention it, the noise does sound like a FAX noise, I hadn't actually connected the two before.
If that is the case, maybe my problem has something tot do with the fact my printer is an "Officejet 4215 All in One" which prints, faxes & copies. But how could I disable the fax part, since I still would need to acces my printer & copier ????
Also, F.Y.Y. I have spent over 100 hr's over the past year "doing my own researching" & online with their support etc. desperately trying to resolve the problems "on my own" & this is the 3rd. dongle I have gone through. & if I could get this last problem resolved, I would be extatic.
