vm to answering machines and rings

2 questions :
1. is there any way I can divert the messages to my answering machines instead of the softphone or mj answering machine.
right now messages will go to my machine only if it is busy.

2. Can i change the number of rings to 6 instead of 4.

Instead of increasing the MJ voicemail rings number to 6 (I don't know if that's doable), you may have a "don't raise the bridge--lower the river" situation. If you hook your answering machine in between the MJ and your phone... and set your answering machine to pickup at 3 rings or less, that oughta do it---unless your phone and answering machine together bump up the power requirements to more than the MJ can supply. If that happens, there's a discussion elsewhere on this forum about REN numbers (ringer equivalene numbers) and some booster gadgets to compensate. "taflock" had a post on that topic on Nov 01, 2008 12:17 pm under the topic of "multiple phones."
