PAP2T-NA Calls going to Voicemail
Hello:
I have spent alot of time reading these forums and they are excellent. I have been able to setup a Linksys PAP2T with Magic Jack settings and all has been working quite well with one exception......
I have noticed that my inbound calls seem to all go to voicemail and the phone never rings. If I make a phone call from the MJ line it seems to "wake up" and inbound calls will ring through to the phone. After a period of inactivity, they go to voicemail again. I have adjusted the "Register Expires" from 3600 to 840 but it does not seem to make a difference. Does anyone have any idea what I could be doing wrong? Outbound calls always work with no issues.
PAP2T has firmware Ver. 5.1.6(LS) (this is the latest version).
As a side note: I have another number setup on line 2 of the PAP2 that works perfectly with all the default settings (not a MJ line) but incomig calls come through on that without problems.

I have the exact same problem. The incoming calls all seem to go straight to voice mail and my phone never rings. I've plugged the magic jack usb dongle into the computer and the phone rings fine. However if I use the PAP2T, I can dial out perfectly, but I have no inbound calls.
After reading forums I set the reg exp from 3600 to 840 to 60 and I've put the PAP2t into the DMZ part of the router and still no inbound calls. I've matched the PAP2T settings that were posted by magicdump as well. What can I still be missing?

Don't take my word for it, but I believe that the problem you are confronting usually can be fixed by entering the Right DNS into the PAP2T.freebie916 wrote:I have the exact same problem. If you click start, run, type "cmd" without quote then execute the following Command: ipconfig/all
Take note of your DNS server...
Now open, your pap2t, select system, in the section where it says: primary DNS, Secondary DNS
enter this information there...
In addition, if you have a router, be sure to forward port 5060 and 5070 to your Pap2t address.
and be sure that DHCP is disable and you are using a statistic IP in your Pap2t
It has work for me, but each system is different, I am not too sure about your network configuration.

Had the Same issue for the last week
I was no longer getting incoming calls, all went to voicemail.
My second line (non MJ) worked perfect so I figured it had to be with the line settings and not SIP.
I tried changing STUN servers and STUN options.
I changed the registration from 3600 to 180 and still no luck.
I decided to upgrade to the latest firmware 5.1.6 from the factory loaded 3.1.15 and again nothing....
I didn't mess with the DNS server as I'm using the DNS assigned to my gateway/router from my IP. But since I could make outgoing calls one would think the DNS lookup for the proxy is working fine.
I finally decided to change my proxy from Tampa to Miami as that was the last thing I could think of changing.
I am now getting incoming calls again. Not sure if there is something with their proxies or what but that is worth a try if anyone else has problems after trying the solutions above.

magicjack and pap2
I agree....every so often my calls start going to voicemail on the first ring. The solution seems to be changing the proxy server. As soon as I do that all is well until it happens again. This is a magicjack proxy server problem without a doubt. I really have not kept track but I would say it happens maybe once every 2 weeks or so but is not consistent.
Seems to also happen only on weekends.
Every once in a while, I call and see if the phone rings. If not, I know its time to change the proxy server. For 20 bucks a year, its no biggie.

not to confuse matters.....but
I have removed the pap from the equation and am using voxalot.com to manage my magicjack, several other sip nos and a rome, italy number. The problem existed direct on the pap with mj settings and continues with voxalot.com, so no, I haven't missed a thing. The settings in the pap are all voxalot settings at this point and all other numbers and sip numbers work fine. Dialing out is never a problem as voxalot routes all us calls through magicjack servers.

Calls going to voicemail
I'm able to make one or two calls and then I'm able to receive one or two calls and then the rest of the calls go to VM. I have set the register expires to 180 and i'm on a NY proxy. Is there anything else i can try so the calls dont go straight to VM? Please help

I have the same STUN settings as MagicDump configuration 'stun.ekiga.net:3478' should i change this to something else. What happens if I set the register expires less than 180 say 60-120?mberlant wrote:What are your STUN settings? How often do you have STUN set to refresh?
Making calls are not a problem but receiving them goes direct to VM
Thank you for your help
That setting looks good. Is there any chance your NAT router is behind yet another NAT router? The way to check is to see if your router's WAN address matches the address that comes up when you visit www.whatismyip.com.
