Microsoft Home Server?

Post by jdmncc1969 »

Anyone got a Magic Jack running on a Home server? It seems a natural choice to try. I just have no idea about running it on a server based OS.

It seems to be a glorified Network Attached Storage device, similar to the Buffalo LinkStation. There is no clue what OS might be under the hood, nor if anyone has hacked it yet. I recommend you google for "hack windows home server" and see what comes up.

Before switching over to a Linksys ATA, I was using MagicJack with Windows Home Server without problem. I had it setup to run as a service. To register my phone number I had to open some websites using internet options. WHS is based on Windows Server 2003 and related more to XP than Vista. Hope that helps.
