Up until yesterday and today I've been very happy with my MJ. Yesterday, however, it started a trick that I'm not fond of. I can call out with no problems, but incoming calls result in dead air. I find out when I call them back that they can hear me but I can't hear them. I've called my number using my cell phone and my wife can both hear me and talk with me perfectly. Of course that's while we are both in the house.
I ran a VoiP test for those of you who are a technically inclined (I'm not) and got the following results.
download speed - 2.88 mbps
upload speed - 716 Kbps
quality of service - 99%
jitter - 0.1 ms
packet loss - 0.0%
MOS score 4.0
None of that means anything to me although the narrative that accompanies the scores says that I should have no problem sending and receiving high quality voice and that has been the case up to this point.
Anyone have any ideas? Please keep it simple as I'm not overly conversant in MJ!
Can't Hear Incoming Calls

Check out the many other threads here -- there seem to be an increasing number of MJ users complaining about problems with regard to hearing in, hearing out or not at all (dialing but not hearing the ringing, etc.). I also today started noticing it randomly put my calls on hold and I can't get them off.
I don't think its you. Some of played around with proxies and router firewalls thinking it will work and it may. I think the problems have become regional (in some area codes and not others).
I have found some relief following the instructions here either to go into the control panel and reset both the default sound and recording options and also seen some relief by reducing the MJ options 'volume' from MAX down to about 1/3.

Fix for unable to hear callers on inbound calls
I just got my device. Installed it directly on two computers. Both worked great on outbound calls. Inbound calls I could hear them fine, but they couldn't hear anything I was saying. Chatted with tech support and changed a bunch of stuff, but here is the fix.
Unplug the MJ.
Go Start-Run. Then type regedit. Click <OK>
Click on the [plus] by the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder
Click on the [plus] by the SYSTEM folder
Click on the [plus] by the ENUM folder
RIGHT click the USB folder and click on PERMISSIONS
Select Everyone, then choose "Allow" by FULL CONTROL
Click "Apply" then click "OK"
Exit Regedit.
Plug in the MJ.
The Tech had me delete a couple keys and reinstall the upgrade all while the MJ was unpluged. If this doesn't work I'll post the entire conversation.
Hope this helps,
Ron
