Configure MJ to work on Windows Mobile 6.1?

Post by macjack1 »

Is there anyway to do this? I have the _setup.xml with the following contents:
<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="VoIP">
<parm name="SIPSettings"
value="<provision key='1232ab01' name='_sip_provider_name_'>
<provider name='_sip_provider_name_' />
<user account='_account_' password='_password_'
uri='sip:_user@sip_host.com_'
allowedauth='digest'/>
<sipsrv addr='_sip_proxy.com_' protocol='UDP' role='proxy'>
<session party='First' type='pc2pc' />
<session party='First' type='pc2ph' />
</sipsrv>
<sipsrv addr='_sip_registrar.com_' protocol='UDP' role='registrar'/>
</provision>" />
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>
I know what values to put for the username and password, but I have no idea what to put as the:

# sip:_user@sip_host.com_ should be your SIP address,
# _sip_proxy.com_ and _sip_registrar.com_ are your SIP proxy and registrar

Any clues on which values to put in the *.xml so I can use my MJ account on my HTC Kaiser?

I found the settings:
<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="VoIP">
<parm name="SIPSettings"
value="<provision key='1232ab01' name='MagicJack VoIP'>
<provider name='MagicJack VoIP' />
<user account='Eaaapppllll01' password='XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX'
uri='[email protected]:5070'
allowedauth='digest'/>
<sipsrv addr='proxy1.seattle.talk4free.com:5070' protocol='UDP'

role='proxy'>
<session party='First' type='pc2pc' />
<session party='First' type='pc2ph' />
</sipsrv>
<sipsrv addr='proxy1.seattle.talk4free.com:5070' protocol='UDP'

role='registrar'/>
</provision>" />
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>
If you install the VoIP *.CAB available at XDA developers, and follow the instructions in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950 , you can use your MagicJack account on Windows Mobile.

When I install the VOIP CAB, I receive a message saying "Installation of voip.cab was unsuccessful".
The phone is a HTC 8525.

Which OS are you running on the phone? The CAB requires WM 6.0 or higher. I have it mirrored on my 4shared if you want a copy of it. (Or login to the XDA FTP server, and get it from there)

I just don't want to commit to any wireless network in the US and since a travel out of the country a lot I should be able to use this phone with any simcard.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thank you

htc touch question

Post by vixentd »

I have now purchased an Htc TOUCH and hope to get the magic jack working on it through wifi. It has windows mobile 6
1. Does the phone have to be unlocked?
2. Are there any easy instructions for a newbie on how to configure it so it will work on my phone.

Any help is appreciated.

Alltel HTC PPC6800 Problems

Post by chrisabston »

Okay, I have followed the instructions. I have the four files as listed on the XDA website. My VoipProv0 is actually VoipProv1 and I am not sure this is a problem. What is a problem is that I can see internet calling on the today item list but it does not show on my today screen. When I go to phone settings I do not get the internet tab... Any Help? Anybody experience this before?

Thanks,
Chris
