Issues with MJ not opening

Heres the deal. My Magic Jack worked for a week and one morning i had the dial pad open picked up my phone and got no dial tone. Tryed calling my cell phone from the MJ on screen dial pad and it worked. Then I tryed plugging a different phone into the MJ but that one still got no dial tone. then i went to the customer support at magicjack.com and what they told me to do made my MJ stop working completely. Now what it does when i try to open it is the picture of the USB dongle pops up like normal saying "MagicJack.com tell your friends" and whatever else it says then it disappears and instead of the MJ program opening nothing happens. It doesnt open. I do get a dial tone but cant make calls and cannot call my MJ line. Any ideas? Also using Vista 32 bit.

JimKo, Did the chat session suggest the "Format" option?? I ran into the same problem a couple of times.. Open "mycomputer" find the "Vista Only" right click, click format. Then it will format, probably very fast then you will unplug the MJ for about 20 seconds then plug back in. After that, wait and watch, don't be too impatient, give it time it will show the green "Lucky You" screen, It may look like it is doing nothing, then it will load up and should be ok again.. You may have to restart MJ with the Icon on your desktop.. you wont be destroying anything when you do this, it is actually in the troubleshooting area of the Magic Jack site.. Give it a shot and then let us know how it turns out

I will try again but ive done that process multiple times. When i try to use the desktop icon its the red "Warning must be plugged in USB" error but when i open it directly from my computer it gives me the normal "magicjack.com tell your friends" but then fails to actually open. Also the original problem was the handset wasnt working but i could make calls with soft dial and what they had me do was format that drive and after that this problem began to occur.

Yeah I have. Its alright guys ill figure it out somehow thanks anyways. I just have never seen anyone else with the same problem yet.

Have you tried to completely uninstall MJ and then reinstall it?
