I have been reading this site (and others) for several weeks hoping to find a post with my problem. I have yet to see one that is like the problem that I have.
I usually shut my computer down at night, as I seldom receive calls on the magic jack. Before I shut down I use the safely remove hardware to remove magic jack. The next time I start the computer and plug in magic jack, and start up the softfphone, the softphone will not completely load. In other words, it will not display ready to call. It will stay on please wait for a couple of minutes, then say magic jack is not responding. I then safely remove the magic jack, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. This time I get a message from windows that it needs to check the disk for errors. I let it check the disc, it says there is no problem and then magic jack loads as it should. It does this almost every time. It does this if I let magic jack start auto, or if I wait and start mj with the icon.
I am using Vista,32 bit with SP1. I have plenty ram, plus a fast processor and have a very fast Internet.
I must say that, other than the above, mj works perfectly. All the features work as they should and the voice is crystal clear on send and receive.
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Got it...maybe
After suffering for several weeks with this problem, I finally decided to format the mj drive and install the update. After 3 days, so far, so good.
