hello..i tried searching and couldn't fins any information. what is the best way (for call clarity) to set up the mj using a desktop (that also uses a router) and a corded/cordless phone?

does the phone need to be placed away from the router? i want to do everything possible to get clear calls as i use mj for my business line.

the only thing you have to make sure is that your bandwidth is fast enough to support VOIP calls, phone placement doesn't really matter..

This was my experience re: phone placement (although with another VOIP provider) ...

I had some problems with call clarity when using my SunRocket ATA that their tech support seemed to eventually track down to being caused in part by my 5.8 cordless phone base being too close to my wireless router (I didn't think 5.8 phones would conflict with wi-fi, but apparently some broadcast one way at 2.4???). So I moved the cordless base away from the wireless router and my modem, and it seemed to help.

So, I still try to keep the devices as far away from each other as possible, which may be typical of my approach to these tech issues, which is a blend of fear, superstition, tradition, and twisted intuition (and very little real knowledge).

Just make sure you invest in a good Dect Phone, I have a Uniden dect phone thats water proof and the clarity is excellent. The down side is the appearence is not gr8 but clarity, range and battery life is excellent.
