How many MJs per LAN

Post by larro »

I currently have an Intertel PBX that with traditional PRI lines that works great. Now I'm considering using a couple magicjacks for outbound calls to save on cost.

How many magicjacks can i use per LAN? As many as my bandwidth will allow or is it restricted by concurrent connections?

I'm currently running a Gentoo Linux box with iptables as a NAT for my gateway.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's standard sip, so it only limits by bandwidth.

Cool, I've read a few post where people have mentioned using "as many as 4 MJs at a time". So I guess this is because of their bandwidth limitations.

Also, is the 30 minute cap on outgoing calls still an issue?

4 MAGIC JACKS ON ONE CABLE

Post by craigm1 »

I have been using 4 magic jacks for 3 months 2 pentium 550 and 2 pentium 233's running them. Just switched 2 over to a pap2 and am waiting for arrival of another pap2 so i can run them all without the dongles.

I hope you didn't spend to much money on the PAP2's, MJ has made it so they don't work anymore. Keep your computers up and running. I just had to switch my 2 MJ's back to the USB ports cause the PAP2 won't connect. I hope someone can fix this. I like the PAP2 better.

pap2 2

spent about $90 for both I'm sure i will use them for something, the weird thing before i couldn't get the other 2 mj's running I needed to do a manual update downloading a file to update they kept saying error 401, the mjs worked so much better with the pap2 oh well back to having 2 desktops online and 2 laptops online just so i can run the lines, but im using them with autodialers 12 hours a day so f them in the end im still winning in the long run.
