As I've read the posts on all of the threads relating to "The day the world ended", I've noticed that the reported problems are not limited to only rogue users of ATA of various forms. How about the number of posters who "claim" to be using MJ as intended, to include MJ softphone, that are still shut out. Doesn't compute.

As for TC, they don't violate the TOS assuming they are used with dongle installed.

BTW, so far my ATA is 5x5 after the change. Shut it down after I read about the update. Hooked up MJ on TC and used Stroths to pull current info. User agent was only change a/o 6/9.

THERE'S A LOT OF REPORTED INFO THAT JUST DOESN'T ADD UP. MIGHT IT BE POSSIBLE THAT DAN AND COMPANY HAS HAD A COLOSSAL SCREW UP ON THE UPDATE AND THEY'RE SCRAMBLING TO GET IT FIXED. WISHFUL THINKING I KNOW. BUT SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.

Edit 6/13: This am lost my ATA capability. Hadn't done anything different here so assume Dan's folks know what they're doing and we're screwed until and if Dan decides to offer BYOD. Hopefully whatever program will allow many different ATAs rather than a MJ specific. Good news is that MJ on TC is working better than ever.

Nope,still working.

EDIT: As of 6/13 am no longer have ATA capability. Dongle in TC works fine.

i AM and always have ben using MJ per the user agreement. Since the 'upgrade' she is Dead Captain (i'm a doctor, not a bricklayer... sorry, old Star Trek joke). And while i am not fully privy to tell all, they ARE working on it yet after 5+ hours of 'tchnical help' i am STILL dead in the water.

Everything in my config is fine EXCEPT:

An error occurred checking your magicJack's configuration. Please try again and contact tech support if the problem continues.

Oh, we have tried and tried and tried. A new MJ hardware is on its way to me as we speak.

So no, am not using some software only solution, and just want the darn thing to work like it has been doing for months. Hopefully that is not too much to ask.

Oh bs, ok lets review the situation. If the update was a major screw up then they would have rolled back by now and told everyone else to roll back. I was using the service i paid for. phone service no matter if it came from their buggy in your face pos ap or my ata. forcing me to have that unattractive thing in my face everytime someone calls or is called is ignorant.

I dont know what their point is with this. I only bought the stupid thing to use with ata. If i have to use this thing through their dongle then im done and guess what! I have about 30 customers coming with me. I have sold everyone i know on this product. I am a pc tech. They are losing buisness because of this.

^ You're complaining because something that wasn't supposed to work that way stopped working? That's like complaining why you didn't get a second free ticket to the buffet upon receiving the first free ticket.

Read the ToS. It's against their rules...but I'd be happy if it worked.

Exactly... Dan needs to eat too, I am glad they found a way to stop some of us from using ata, goody for them.

The two people that posted above me dont belong here with that attitude, why are you even here? Magicjack is a great service as long as you use your own ata but with the dongle its crap. If you guys are using the dongle what support do you need here?

Am hoping to find a work around on my own and have done MANY things for the boring formatting to regedit to deleting the 'hidden' mj file on my C drive to... MAYBE if someone here finds a workaround/solution i could somehow use it or find a way to use the info to 'reverse engineer' something that would work.

Of course then there is the ever-present 'thirst for knowledge' that haunts me all the time. The again "The more i know the more i realize i do not know". It is a paradox.

Ok, back to watching the 24/hr Le Mans race...

And yes, Le Mans is a great race i hope one day to 'rent' a seat in it (or at least one for the 24/Daytona with TRG or the like).

Reset to factory deafult no go. If this was a Cisco Call Manager I could try to hack it, but I just get what they have done...that teh ATA does not work.
