I recently contacted Customer service when I found the do not disturb function was gone. I was told that the company was experiencing complaints. Apparently many people can not figure out that when the function is checked, the phone will not ring.
This is fine, it happens, however is the solution to TAKE AWAY a function we paid for in advance. We now get LESS for our money mid contract? They has to be a more LEGAL way to deal with this.
If MJ is prepared to offer rebates for the loss of a function that was present when people paid for the MJ or are prepared to offer old versions of the upgrade, thus giving the consumer a choice that is one thing. Bait and switch is another. Before you reply I understand that the DND was not a featured function. However it was a function when I bought MJ non the less. A function that I LOVED. The ability to screen the call and having it go directly to VM was a God send.
The cynic in me says that DND was taking from memory by increasing the amount of calls dumped into VM. If that is the case and a cost cutting measure and they are not being forthright or ethical, SHAME ON MJ. (This is just a cynical guess)

REBATE FOR EVERYONE
Further more I believe as a group we are well with in our rights to ask for a rebate. FYI Jody from customer service told me:
"Management will review this communication and will either provide you with a rebate or a way to get your DND back." (Para phrasing)
I have it saved. So this seems to me a legal opening to a rebate situation or an expanding of our choice as consumers of a product at least I have grown to love.
Contact Customer service about your rebate. Apply pressure.

Re: REBATE FOR EVERYONE
The Terms of Service say MJ can terminate service at any time without refund. Surely they can discontinue a feature.keepitfair wrote:Further more I believe as a group we are well with in our rights to ask for a rebate.

Get a life. Most people are just happier than a pig in s**t when the darn thing works well for voice calls. You're paying less than $2/month and all you have to do is complain about the loss of "do not disturb?" When did Verizon ever have that feature?? You know a great way to get this feature back? Open a command prompt (a DOS box for us old-timers) and type "tskill magicjack" at the c:\ prompt. That's take care of it.keepitfair wrote:I recently contacted Customer service when I found the do not disturb function was gone. I was told that the company was experiencing complaints. Mark is not the company. He has some of the same concerns as the rest of us
The deity status comes from the number of postings. The more postings the higher the status. Funny but refreshing. Why don't you use your magic jack powers oh deity of the little blue light to right the wrong. Instead of defending the company....unless you are the company... hmmmm
