Magicjack Registration Time?

Post by MJuser909909 »

Anyone...

I have had my register time on my ATA set @ 180 seconds, however I have noticed that with wireshark the actual MJ Dongle makes contact with the proxy (proxy01.xxxx.talk4free.com) every twenty seconds?? is this a re-registration or something else?

if something else, what is it?

thanks[/img]

Registration every 20 seconds appear to be their way of "NAT keep alive", otherwise port 5070 would eventually be blocked by your router or personal software firewall.

Just my thoughts...
That's my quarter's worth, but not enough to call someone who really cares at a pay telephone booth...

Not understanding much of the technical details involved, I've wondered about this question too ...

Does anyone know what the maximum registration expires setting is for the SPA 2102? I'm currently using 3600, been using 180 prior to the upgrade. Both were successful. I have "Keep NAT Alive" enabled in the ATA.
