Not recognizing attached phone on Mac

I'm having a problem with magicJack on an iMac (doesn't recognize that a phone is plugged into it). I posted the details on the Mac forum here:

...but noone has answered yet. Maybe someone who sees this post could click over to there & see if you have an idea how to solve it?
