I am about to install MJ on several computers and try and run it as a service.
In doing that NOW and later with a 48 port Gigabyte switch that will run my home / business and allow workstations to be manned by Volunteers helping save the environment--assuming anybody wants to. At any rate, that should provide at least a good idea how MagicJack works and ties up resources on you computer and Network.
Anybody know the answer?
Reduce MagicJack launch to Autoexecute.bat and Config.sys

Magic Jack reduced to Config.sys & Autoexecute.bat
The question is: What are the 5 or 10 commands [like config.sys] & What are the 5 or 10 commands [like autoexecute.bat] that MagicJack is installing on a modern computer to get a Hard Drive & CD rom device launched.

The first drive is configured exactly like a CD drive and the operating system processes the autorun.inf file just like it would for any CD.
The second drive is configured as a thumb drive and is treated the same as any other USB thumb drive by the operating system.
autoexec.bat and config.sys have not been used for anything since Windows 98 or possibly Windows ME. Since Windows NT they have been dummy files for backwards compatibility with old programs that refuse to run if they aren't there.

Thanks for the tips
Thanks, Murph.
I will use this info and try to get into it. As you say dos is old. But, not dead for me as I still use J.bat which is jump to dot bat and yearn for the Xtree days to do file transfers. I'll try and post here in a few days as my main brain thrust now is linux and my web site.
BUT, the MagicJacks ! are critical and I did just blow a couple of hours today with chat - second level chat [which seems to be working much better]...and got some tips on running 2 MJ's on 1 computer.
Just go into Firewall and open a port for MJ1 as 5060 and one for MJ2 as 5070. Seems to work so far.
