How many hours a month do you talk? It seems more likely limits are put on the few that exceed a certain minute limit per month then those that have the occasional 2 hour chat. I suspect someone who uses the same or less number of minutes that the average household would use will never need to worry about calls being terminated.

Giving us your total usage time may help us understand why you were cut off and others are not. I have read reports that other more expensive VOIP providers have limits ranging from 2000 to 5000 minutes per month.

They all claim unlimited, but unlimited is not clear cut. As unlimited is only marketing hype. For example; a chip manufacturer claims 0 grams of Tran’s fat on a package, but it is next to impossible to get 0 Trans fats in most foods. In reality it means it has less then ½ gram of Tran’s fat per serving. Current rules and laws make this type of advertising legal. Just like its legal to say unlimited even though it is not, as long as there is something in the Terms of Service agreement.

This will piss off some heavy users who thought they were going to get a ridiculously great deal on phone calls. For those people who are just average users they most likely will never see limit problems. If you consider yourself an average phone user and have been limited please speak up.

Feel free to correct me or prove me wrong, but no business can survive if it sells something at or below cost. The TOS is their way to make money and protect their witty advertising schemes.

Until we force all sellers of goods and services to provide unadulterated information on their product descriptions we will always be suckers for the clever advertisers of the world.

I would not expect an incoming call to get cut off. In your case MJ is receiving money from the cell phone company to complete the call. I don't know if the payment is a connection charge or a duration charge or both.

Hmmm...that would explain why it hangs up on me in the middle of a three hour or more conversation. I thought it was just a glitch. I've had it hang up on me, during long distance calls, as many as three or four times.

Its a 2 hour limit - I was on a telecon and it threw me off at 1 hour and 59 min. But I dialed back in and stayed on for another hour+. I too suffer from random disconnects. Sometimes they come fast and furiously (e.g., 30 seconds into a call, 1-2 min into a call) and sometimes after 5 or 10 min. I think its either a server glitch or some random noise on my wireless phone causing a hangup. Usually 1 redial fixes the problem but I've also had times when I've had to call back 3-4 times before I got a stable call session.

Well, I haven't had the problems you've described, with the hangups after only seconds or minutes, so it probably has to do with your connection, as you've hypothesized.

You'll have to ask my sister.... She can talk to me for over an hour and all I have to say is "uh huh" once every few minutes. :-)
