Magic jack that plugs into router
A friend in England told me he got what seems like a magic jack that plug directly into his router so his computer does not have to be on to make a call, it works directly through the router.
Does anybody know of something similar available in the USA. He could not remember the name of the product as he gave it to his son who lives in Australia and said the store that sold it does not have them anymore.

no computer needed
with this you plug it in to a router and you don't have to have your computer on to make calls
tk6000 & MJ very similar web pages
the https://www.tk6000.com/ web page bears striking similarities to the MJ page. Anyone else think the same ?

Will Someone Tell me the Difference...
between theTk6000 vs an ATA with VoIP service? I can't tell any difference.

Look closely at the bottom left corner where the RJ-45 connector is.

I have a linksys router and i put a connector on my magic jack that converts it to the connection on the back of the router and i was able to connect it in but the blue light did not come on, does this mean that I might need a "powered USB" hub to connect to then connect it to the router in order to get the magic jack to work without connecting it to a computer.Solantro wrote:Interesting finding:

ok here is another question, I have my linksys router, Wireless G and I found at a thrift store in Wisconsin a Linksys RPT300 router (unopened box, never used) and I used the program to erase the Vonyage information that was in the voice section of that router. Could I connect the RPT300 to the Wireless G router to use the magic jack? Or do I have to have one or the other.
