Using Area Code when dialing number
I get a voice warning every time I use my magicjack that says " You must use the area code when dialing" when in fact I have never dialed a number without the area code. Sometimes I get one warning before my call goes through and sometimes it takes several tries.

Try varying how fast you dial, seems if you dial too fast or leave a gap between numbers, MJ thinks you are finished dialing.dbennett52 wrote:I get a voice warning every time I use my magicjack that says " You must use the area code when dialing" when in fact I have never dialed a number without the area code. Re: using area code when dialing
It's not a matter of whether you dialed the number correctly. The question is did the MJ decode all of the digits correctly and place them in the soft phone dialing area. If it's not correct there, it's not going to work.dbennett52 wrote:Thanks for your reply. but I am positive that that I dialed correctly with no missing numbers

useing area code when dialing
Thank you for your reply.
I understand what you are saying but the point I am trying to make is this.
I use a handset with the numbers programed into the memory. I select the one I want to call and press talk. This is when I get the message t;hat I need to use the area code. I hit end. and press redial and the call will go through. sometimes on the first try sometimes it takes more than one try.
I also have the numbers saved on my magicjack and the same thing will happen.
I will be more more observant when making calls to see if the magicjack is displaying the number correctly which I believe is what you are saying.
Thanks again D Bennett
