i tried process my sales by using magic jack with both of my computers ( xp and vista ) and my credit card machine either say "no dial tone" or "time out , redialing"
is there any hope"
i am able to make regular phone calls by the way.
please help
The MJ is not designed for that purpose or for faxing, although some people have gotten faxes to work. If you're running a business, I would not suggest using a MJ-it's simply not reliable or consistent enough.

I would have to agree not to rely on MJ for faxing or CC use. However, make sure your CC machine dials area code then the seven digit phone number. 10 digits total.
Also make sure you change the baud rate on the cc machine to 9600 or lower and don't even try to use it on the Vista machine. My success with fax machines (essentially what your cc machine is) has been limited to XP and best results with a dedicated stripped down machine or a thin client running XPe.
I sell credit card service so shoot me a pm and I can help with your particular machine to work with mj. The big thing to look is does you machine look for a dial tone you have to disable that to fax or use for cc machine. I have successfully hook this up for customers.
