Hi all,
I recently upgraded my PC from XP /w SP3 to Windows 7 Professional. At first my MagicJack software loaded up (soft phone), but I had really choppy audio quality on my telephone. I proceeded to use the upgrade software (upgrade.exe), but now my MagicJack (soft phone) won't even load. I found the update utility for Windows 7 (magicjackUpdate.exe), but I have the same problem. I am at my wits end as I need MagicJack. I never had these problems in Windows XP. Please help.

You may need to format the storage on your MJ then re-run the update. If you pull the MJ adapter out without clicking on the task bar to remove the device first, you may end up corrupting files on the dongle. Use Search and the term "format", you'll come across tips on re-formatting your MJ dongle. It has 2 "drives" on it, one is formattable, the other isn't. After formatting, run update.
MJ is running well on my win 7 laptop. No issues.

My magicJack is working well on Windows 7 as well and I think from having MJ for 18 months now, it seems to work the best with Windows 7. We all have our own systems and depending how you have setup your system and resources, it can make a difference even on your magicJack. Now for a long time my MJ does not start automatically and it does not mean it doesn't work when making phone calls, it just not start when booting to windows. In Windows 7 go to Windows Explorer. In Folder and Search Options options click on View and show Hidden Files. In Windows Explorer follow these steps, Local Disk (C), Users, the name you have setup for you, AppData, Roaming, mjusbsp, ug00000, setup - and this should open your softphone. Do like I do and copy this to your desktop and then finally pin this do your taskbar. Whenever I boot to windows then I just click on my MJ icon on my taskbar and I am ready to make phone calls.
