Re: OS Supported
Would that be "Windows XP" CE 5.0 or perhaps "Windows Vista" CE 5.0 or maybe "Windows 7" CE 5.0?? Does this hardware sport USB 1.1 or USB 2.0?hexdump wrote:Does MJ work on a small PC with Windows CE 5.0 as the operating system?

Well, it doesn't go beyond the CE version
I am looking for an inexpensive netbook/notebook to be dedicated to MJ.
The netbook/notebook will be plugged into the router upstairs and MJ will be plugged into it.
MJ is now running on my PC downstairs which is connected to the network via wireless.
I will dedicate the netbook to MJ so the performance will prolly improve and the elimination of wireless will also help.
The 2 cheap netbooks list the OS as Windoes CE 5.0 or 6.0, nothing more.
I will prolly be better off looking for Win Xp.
Does MJ need a lot of horsepower, ie would a celeron 900mhz be adequate?
thanks

Thats what I"m using cheap old dell 800mhz celoron with only 128mb ram,
only running MJ, turn off virus software so it don't bog things down, and/or don't put any virus software on it.
And I've been using this for almost 2 years, and plugged that into my my house wireing, and all phones are on the MJ plug now.
Just make sure you disconnect any incoming phone lines to the outside box if you do that because there is some voltage from the service to the phone box, but anyhow you can just replace the line coming into the phone box, and plugin the MJ to it instead.
I've been using that like this for about 2 years now as my only phone service and loving it.
