Is this TC enough?
I just getting into this MJ stuff and enjoying it. I bought a pre-configured TC (neoware) off of EBay and I'm using it. I also bought a HP T5700 1G, 256/256 that has not been configured for MJ to play around with (why...for fun, odd, I know).
Anyway...
1. How large is the MJ software?
2. It is mandatory to remove various XPe files or will there be enough room to load MJ on 256 MB without doing this?
On a completely different note...
The client that I'm currently using is a Neoware CA15.
1. Does anyone know when these units were introduced (how old it is)?
2. Is there a link anywhere to download a flash for the neoware OS? Mine is working fine, but I would like to have a backup and the HP site no longer lists help for the CA 15.
Anyway...

Sorry I have no experience with the CA 15 so I can't help you there.Drmike wrote:I just getting into this MJ stuff and enjoying it. The size of MJ is somewhat variable depending on the update of the current version of MJ but mine after most recent update is just a smidgen under 40M.
Yes on the T5700 with 256M you will need to remove some of the extraneous XPe files. There are extensive instructions on doing this in the Sticky and in the Dummies Guide or you can look at my original instructions HERE or in the sticky.
I can tell you like to tinker so you may also be interested in performing a modification to replace the 256M flash memory with a 4GB microdrive. If so you can find instructions on that HERE. The layout is a little different between the T5700 and the T5710; the T5700 actually has a little more room inside since it has fewer heat sinks. But electrically they are close enough so the mod will work with either one. Also since the time I wrote that how to the price of the micro drives has dropped from around $25 to under $8 so the total cost of the mod is now around $25. With 4GB you would not need to remove anything to make room but since several of those things are things you most likely would never use anyway there is really no good reason not to remove them.
Sad Times Ahead for this Obamanation !!!! Psalms 109:8
The HP TC5700 you mention will run your MJ with no problem, with that said its pretty much the bare minimum, if it were me I'd upgrade to 512/512.

The first three digits of the CA15 S/N will tell you the manufacture date. The first digit is the year and the second two digits are the month. So if you had a S/N of 60402468A then that unit was produced in April of 2006.
As far as the image goes, I have two. One is a 192mb image and the other is 256mb. I'll upload to MediaFire tomorrow along with the Neoware Bootable USB v2.2.2 software to load the image. The 192 image does work, but that's really pushing the limits.
They have both been configured for mJ w/ TeamViewer installed as well. The TeamViewer ID has not been assigned. At first boot, do not plug the mJ into the USB port. You will need to initially launch the TeamViewer app from the desktop shortcut in order for it to obtain it's unique ID. The PW has been preset to 123456 (which you can change in settings if you like). Write these two numbers down. Then minimize TeamViewer to the systray. Finally you must commit the change to disk and reboot with mJ connected.

You're welcome. Yes I do and you probably did, so thanks. I'm glad it's working well for you. My ebay ID is acpcguy. I haven't uploaded the imager yet. I'm having an issue with my MediaFire account. I'll PM you the link if I can get it to work. If not then I can send it to you on a disc. We'll work out the details if it comes to that.
