Anyone know if Magic beans can be used on a thin client?
Does this program live up to its hype??
I wish to disable voicemail once and for all. I have done
everything step by step as posted in the forums. Work for a week
then right back to where it was. I have an answering machine which
i prefer to use, but voicemail keeps taking over.
Just thought i would try the magic beans program to see if it will work for
me.
Thanks,
Dave

Try the "MagicfeaturesPlugin" at http://www.pcphonesoft.com .
You can download the plugin and test out what you are trying to do for free before you commit to purchase anything.
BASIC ANSWERING MACHINE PICKUP
You can use the "Double Ringing" feature that gives 7-8 rings before the call rolls over to voice mail. The answer machine must be set to 6 rings or less. If you are on the phone, it rolls over to voice mail by default.
SELECTIVE ANSWERING MACHINE PICKUP
For selective answering machine pickup, use the "Priority Ringing" feature and specify exactly which callers you want the answering machine to pick up for. If you want all calls to receive Priority Ringing just stick "*" by itself in one of the Priority Ringing table fields. For reference, this option delivers 14-16 physical rings before the call routes to voice mail.

It will currently work on a thin client only if you have the CDO API installed
on it. It does perform as advertised with all features listed working.
I haven't been watching this forum closely lately, so sorry for the late
response. You can post questions about MagicBeans now at
http://forum.magicjackbeans.com
and you can find the Original Feature Enhancement Software for the
magicJack ™, MagicBeans ™ at
http://www.magicjackbeans.com
Thanks!

Nice answer to SELL your crap in someone elses thread ...redpepper wrote:Try the "MagicfeaturesPlugin" at http://www.pcphonesoft.com .

You need to enable the "Double Ringing" feature and that will change the number of rings from 4 rings to 8 rings before the call is sent to voice mail. That should provide enough rings for your answer machine to pickup the call.
Can a mod DELETE this and my post please?
Whoa, hold on here! These are forums and anything is up for grabs! The fact that there's competition on 3rd party MJ products is great and I don't think redpepper was rude or"stealing" anyone's thread.conniemadagain wrote:Nice answer to SELL your crap in someone elses thread ...redpepper wrote:Try the "MagicfeaturesPlugin" at http://www.pcphonesoft.com .

As far as the MB forum link, vdot, your link initially timed out and there was a connection error. Seems fixed now but site is pretty sluggish when clicking links in your forums.

I think I'll leave that one for the reader to decide.synchron wrote:I don't think redpepper was rude or"stealing" anyone's thread.
As for the forum speed, that is an issue sometimes (where sometimes is the key word),
and is being worked on by my hosting service. They're having some troubles
because of the sporadic nature of the issue. Sorry 'bout that.
