Icoming Call the Ringer will not stop ringing

When an Incoming call comes in on the phone. It keeps on ringing none stop. No break or pause sound. Just a constant ring.

when I pick up the phone to answer it keeps on ringing none stop. I can not hear the other persons, just the ring. Finally the person voice on the other end comes threw once in a while by chance I think but that take about 30 to 45 seconds or more.

The ringing will only stop if the caller hangs up or I if I disconnect the line by hanging up a couple of times.
When they call back after the madness.
I can pick up the phone and it works fine. They connect normally

It's like the line needs to be reset or cleared or something like that I guess. What do I know

Any ideals on how to solve this problem.

I do have two separate MJ phone numbers in the house. One on each computer.
The other MJ works fine.

Same issue here. It seems more frequent with certain numbers. when I call the number back its ok. driving me crazy.

This was happening to me when I bought a new router. That router hated VOIP. It was the Dlink DIR-615. It's back at the store for the next poor soul.

I imagine there are other routers with problems. Try plugging your computer directly into your modem, and see if the problem goes away. Obviously, you should have good anti-virus software running.

I noticed it works right when people who call in on Cell phones.

The thing is funny
I have MJ on two computer coming off the same router LinkSys
On mine it works great on hers it will not stop ringing.
I have notice that the speeds of computers may have something to do with it.
Mine is real fast memory 4 gigs Vista 64 bit With my own phone number
Her's real slow 512Mb XP with her own phone number

It seem when a call comes in the screen take time to load and gets bogged down because the ringing is trying to find the software to load and the computers not fast enough to load it or hook onto the software. So it just keeps ringing till the software stops it. This is what I see while the ring is going on.

I think this is what is happening. I not sharpest tool in the shed but 90% of the time I'm there.

So I'm going to put more memory in her PC.
I'll let you all know what happens.

Any body else that has this going on. Please tell Us whats going on on your PC and Post a reply. There a lot of people on the posts that have the same thing happening. You have to find them. Most of the old posts are from years back that had no reply back.

So much for the SEARCH engine in the forms. It really sucks, I found lots more on subject RING than the search function did.

Sounds like an accurate diagnosis, based on the symptoms. Let us know who the patient responds to treatment...

try disabling sip in your router settings. it worked for me
