Just noticed that my magicjack has been dialing toll free numbers on its own for a couple weeks. I tried calling them and they are modems or faxes picking up, pretty sure the computer got infected with some sort of spyware.
Any one had this happen before? How do I get rid of this?
MJ is dialing numbers on its own, all night long.

Do you have satellite tv, or a DVR plugged into your phone line? Those types of devices make periodic calls to "home." That's normal.aquanaut38 wrote:Just noticed that my magicjack has been dialing toll free numbers on its own for a couple weeks. And the reason why it repeatedly calls all night is because of an error in data transmission to the sat provider. You should treat the sat receiver's modem the same as if it were a fax machine, and mJ doesn't play nice with fax machines. If your sat receiver has the option, change the baud rate to the lowest setting (9600 or lower). Then it should be able to complete the transmission to your sat provider. If your sat receiver never completes transmission you may end up getting billed for the receiver not being connected to a phone line...I found out the hard way!! Hope this helps.

You should need to uninstall the magicjack from your PC.
To do that unplug your magicjack and run the magicjack remover from the give link
http://upgrades.talk4free.com/tools/mjRemover.exe
You will get a window "Magicjack remover successfully ".
Then replug your magicjack and it will start working fine once again
