Forward MJ to thai cell phone while on vacation??

Post by datkins »

Just curious if anyone has tried this. I have the MJ to make and receive calls while at my hotel where wifi is available. But I would also like to forward it to a cell phone with a thai sim card in it. So in essence I would like to forward it to a long distant thai number. I’m assuming I can do this if I buy some international call minutes with MJ and don’t mind paying the .11 cents per minute charge.

I was about to buy a $20.00 credit at MJ but thought I better make sure it would even work first.
Any other suggestions If this wont work?

As far as I've read in other threads, you can't enter more than ten digits in the forward number field.

I agree with your logic; as long as you're willing to pay for it, you should be able to do so. Unfortunately, the MJ company doesn't always behave logically.

Let the call go to voice mail? Then have the email with your voicemail .wav clip forwarded to email on your cell phone? At at minimum, you'd get the voicemail and can call back.

You can use either skype, or lingo. Both have international call fowarding. Skype works but sometimes it is hit or miss. And it is not always clear. but it is faster to set up.

You could also setup a free account with sipgate. Put $10 in the account and forward your MJ number to the free sipgate number. Then have your sipgate calls forwarded to the thai number. The calls to Thailand are only 2.9 cents a minute.
