password finder could not find password

Post by macwindows »

when I run Password finder v2.2 as per the instruction, it does it stuff and display few lines with "Possible User Name found in: dumpmj.11" in next line user name (x-myphonenumber-xx). The same is repeated for dumpmj.12 to dumpmj.17. It does not display password at the end. For information, my jack software is updated on 24/12/2009 to 1.90.5212.
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Password finder 2.2 worked for me. I followed the directions from magicjack hacks. If that doesn't work try using mj dump from stroths. Type in your username in the find field. If you keep looking you will eventually find a 20 character string of numbers and letters near or below the username. Keep trying!

just do a dump from stroths and look real hard. it might take a while but it will be worth it. all the info you need is in that dump.

Actually Stroths hasn't worked for about a year - it's a dead program with no updates or support and the author has dumped it.

And from what I've read here, Password Finder no longer works with the Dec 2009 update. If you haven't done the update, then PF will still work until you restart MJ. According to your own posts you used PF in November before the latest update, so it still worked. New users who activate from now on will not be able to use PF unless it gets an update.

Has anyone noticed if the update changes the password? I haven't updated since I'm using an ATA.

I was running into trouble using PW finder 2.2 after the recent update. I applied the downgrade patch posted here: http://upgrades.talk4free.com/upgrade/2 ... pgrade.exe and it worked fine, and hasn't updated yet after several restarts. *Use the link at your own risk and back up your contacts first*

Stroths does work. Not the utilities or sip info though. You have to download the dump from the sticky. I actually tried this yesterday just to see if it worked, guess what it did. This is the method I used when I didn't have password finder. I just posted that after to let people know.stroths dump, stroths dump, stroths dump, stroths dump. It still works. It doesn't do the easy work of looking through the sip info, but if you dump it yourself you can find everything.

I'm curious then, why use Stroths if simply doing a task process dump does the same thing?

Magicjack removed the file. It was made available at first for people to downgrade if they were having problems with their contacts list, but now they want all users to upgrade to the latest version.

Some people might not know what a task process dump is or how to find a program to do that. I suggested using sip dump from stroths because it iis easy to find in the forum and easy to use.
