Replacement CD

Post by Kahuna »

Received my MagicJack just before a cross-country move, now I can't find the installation CD. There's a file on the Magicjack website called "update.exe", is that the equivalent? If not, is there any site I can download a replacement? TIA.

MagicJack does not come with any driver CD. It has built-in flash memory (just like USB memory stick) and installs itself as a CD drive & a flash drive, then autostarts itself to download the latest softphone app from MJ server, then it will ask you to register your email address to obtain a phone number of available area codes. If everything works for your PC/internet connection, then MJ should be working within a few minutes.

Hmm.. maybe THAT'S why I can't find the CD. The mind is the 2nd thing to go, I forget what the first thing is. Thanks.

Kahuna,

My mind hasn't gone yet so I could tell you what the first thing is, but I won't because you really don't want to know. Ignorance is bliss!
