Is there still a way to downgrade or has MJ stopped that with the latest update. This seems to have helped people with faxing.

Nope you cannot downgrade anymore with this latest release.

I am still able to fax. Call forwarding and everything is still working too. I know I have seen it before but can't remember where. Where do you find out what version you are running? I searched here and couldn't seem to find it.

Thanks

Nevermind ... I found it. I thought it was in the registry when I saw it before.

I am running XP Pro. SP3 and here is what I have:

C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Application Data

I have 2 folders for MJ in here now, mjusbsp which shows version 1.92.530.5 and mjusbspbak which shows version 1.80.499.2

I have only sent one fax today and that was about 20 minutes ago to my dad's business fax. He received it no problem. Haven't received one yet.

Thanks

same problem here,
can only send and even that takes 5 tries!
receiving is out of the question with this update for me!
even 1.90 was much better version.

would a differant chipset modem make any difference?
or this has nothing at all to do with my hardware?

thanks!

Faxing is dead for me now, which blows cause I have a dedicated mJ just for my fax line. Downgrade doesn't work either, so it looks like I'm screwed for now...

I haven't been able to send a fax for quite some time now. I have to scan documents and send them via a fax service now :(

I think I am going to have to bag trying to use magicjack for faxing and just use a free online service to send out faxes. I can still receive a fax with the current MJ software but cannot send one out. If I hadn't just signed up for 5 years of MJ I would just switch to TK6000.

Maybe MJ will someday fix the fax issue and all will be good.

MJ never has, and most likely never will support faxing. It is not their fault as V.O.I.P. is not conducive to faxing. Sure some have got it to work, but it really is hit or miss.

Thanks

However I don't see what the advantage is for using a Windows XP fax console versus a fax service online. I am probably missing something here so please clue me in if I am.

I don't fax very often and when I do, won't I still have to scan the fax from my printer and then use the console to send it out much like I would use the fax service online? (attached scanned file to fax service)

Thanks for any response.
