MajicJack and USB port in D-Link DIR-655 router?

Post by ajgoldman »

Hello all, Noob to majicjack fourm......but MCITP, MCSE, Exchange Server 2007 Cert.

I have tried to play around but cannot seem to get this working. I would like to be able to plug the MJ dongle into the USB port on the DIR-655 and have it configured through the router direct.

This router does not support DD-WRT as it uses an non-open souce compliant chipset (theoretically it can be supported, no programmers have begun fiddling).

Anyways, the router is connected using ether cable so I would be looking for the router to allow full time MJ acces through the routers USB port.

Any word thanks

Unless your router has a built in OS ( Windows or Mac) not going to happen.
Read these forums to get an idea on what your options are for a way to use your MJ without a PC ( hint do a search for ATA.)

Exactly what I was thinking...hmmm. And that was with a post two down from here that addressed the exact same question. I really don't want to put him off, being a new member and all, but just a little bit reading would save alot of emarrassment the next time. The search function is your friend.
