Vonage V-Portal

I am a noobie and I am telecommunication illiterate.

Problem:
I have a magic jack and a canceled Vonage service. The reason why I said canceled vonage service because I still have the Vonage V-Portal. So my question is do I need to connect to the computer or am I able to modify the Vonage V Portal and the Magic Jack so that I could use it?

Just wanted to thank those in advance for your help. I know that my brother was able to do this. He was able to connect use the SIP Protocol from the Magic Jack to his vonage. But he has a very old vonage adapter.

I have no knowledge of SIP extraction, or Vonage router thingys. I do know that if for whatever reason magicJack discovers your use of something else (via SIP), except their Dongle, they have the right to terminate your service!!! AHH (Though their TOS basically gives them right to do anything). If I were you, I wouldn't risk getting my service terminated... so I would just use the Dongle /w laptop, desktop, w/e. Anyways, magicJack providers are always watching you on the forum, so be careful what you make known public. Good luck with your magicThingy.

For someone who openly admits to being ignorant of the issues that you address, you certainly do a good job of projecting a voice of authority. Stay off these fora until you learn enough to make a real contribution to the discussion and not some unsubstantiated garbage that you feel compelled to share.

"UNSUBSTANTIATED GARBAGE"? I made a great contribution! I didn't address SIP credentials, I addressed the part where he asked 'bout whether or not he should use the dongle. I was just providing a friendly warning. If s/he deemed it unnecessary, he would have said so. I need not have a lovely guardian posting mean replies to my contribution.
