Picking up a MJ for use with 3CX

Post by kitkat0981 »

Ok, im picking up a MJ tonight after work, and would liek to know what Type of ATA I need. FXO or FXS to hook up to the MJ Dongle and use it as a trunk on 3CX.

I have a SPA-3102 which hooks up to my house phone wiring and for the sets and the CO pots line comming in.

I want to get a MJ in order to send all my outbound LD calls over to MJ instead of my phone provider.

I've been reading alot and am very confused as to if I need an FXO or FXS port from an ATA to connect to the MJ dongle.

Do I need the PAP2T in order to connect the MJ dongle to it and us MJ as a trunk?

The PAP2 only has FXS ports on it. It can be used to interface an analogue telephone to the 3CX system but you will need an FXO gateway to use the magicjack as a trunk. The SPA3102 will work perfectly.

Ok, but how is the SPA-3102 configured to use the magicjack?

And can I use 3CX to utilize the SPA-3102 as a outbound trunk and have it going through MJ ?

I will have to check my setup out when I get home. I can't remember the exact config in my 3102 and I can't remember all of the steps to set 3CX to use the 3102 as the gateway. I know it was in "Add PSTN Gateway" but I can't remember all of the settings. I am using mine without using the SIP credentials. I have the MJ plugged into the USB port of my phone server and then I have a telephone line running from the MJ to the FXO port of the 3102.

anyone?

Is it possible, today, to setup an SPA3102's FXO port connected to the RG11 on MJ and use it for outbound calling?

OK, i finally was able to capture my password with my new MJ. Pretty easy when your told the correct procedure.

Outbound calls using MJPROXY on my DD-WRT setup WRT610n router, and xlite works fine. Although inbound does not.

Will be doing some testing here at work as this is what I do for work. I handle our SIP network with high end equipment like ACME session boarder controllers, and the nicest tool ever is the Empirix Hammer XMS...

So I will see how this works from a public IP at work today.

This is odd, I was able to get this working at home with mjproxy running on my WRT610N Router and setup Xlite to point to it, but here at work, i'm using MJMD5 with Xlite on the same system, and keep getting a 408 timed out. I need nothing comming out of the interface on Wireshark.
