HI folks...
New to MJ and just ordered my first one yesterday. I'm kicking MA Bell to the curb after forking out almost 90 buck a month to her for years.
I'm reading great reviews about MJ but I'm wondering about one thing. My area code is geographically very large and there are many long distance rules that apply within it. If I don't get a local exchange, there is a possibility that even though MJ does support my area code, for anyone local to call my new MJ number might be long distance.
Has anyone else had this happen?

Yep very common. That is why you need to choose your # carefully. Of course there is no guarantee the # that suits you best is available...
Just scroll through the list when presented during registration and pick the best one for your needs. Maybe choose the one where most of the people who call you the # will be local for them. Or you can try to get a (free) Google voice # and see if they have something more suitable and then forward that to your MJ #.

I would ask the helpful TECH SUPPORT, link located in my sig. I'm sure they would be more than willing to assist you with this issue, and POSSIBLY be able to identify which AREA CODE+PREFIX best suites your location.
GOod luck.
