FREE "MagicRingForever" For Continuous Ringing

Post by redpepper »

A brand new separate tool "MagicRingForever" has just been released to creatively disable the voice mail timeout and allow continuous ringing.

"MagicRingForever" does NOT need to run in the background and as a result has no memory or resource overheads. The only time you need to run it is in the one instance when you wish to disable (or re-enable) the voice mail timeout. Just run the tool to change the setting and then unplug your magicJack and plug it back in again and you are set.

The "MagicRingForever" tool is ABSOLUTELY FREE to download and use and can be downloaded at http://tools.pcphonesoft.com .

I'm 99% sure the answer is yes, but I'm curious. In the event the local MJ loses its connection, power outage etc. Are incoming calls still immediately forwarded to voicemail?

That is correct. It does not affect those functions of the voice mail system in the event of a lost connection, power outage, etc...

MagicRingForever creatively disables the Voice Mail timeout that occurs at around 24 seconds after the phone starts ringing by setting up a call forwarding infinite loop allowing the phone to continuously ring. This allows the ringing phone to re-forward back to itself instead of forwarding to voice mail.

It would be great if this worked. I have been installing and uninstalling for hours and still goes to vmail. Keep up the great work, free is good, especially now that MagicBeans went up to $20!!! ....but, not working on Windows 7 and MagicBeans does.

Is there any support to help PCPhoneSoft troubleshoot this? Or, do you get what you pay for???

I just re-tested the MagicRingForever tool on Windows 7 and it worked fine . It must be something simple.

For clarification, here are the exact steps you need to follow to use the MagicRingForever tool:

1. Download and Install it.

2. Run it. The MagicRingForever window will open.

3. You will see the prompt "Do you want to ENABLE or DISABLE the MJ Voice Mail Timeout? [E/D]?". Type E for enable and hit the enter/return key.

4. You will then see the prompt "Enter your 10 digit MJ phone number (i.e. 2125551212):". Type your 10 digit MJ phone number in the form xxxxxxxxxx without any spaces or special characters and hit the enter/return key.

5. You will then see the statement "FINISHED. UNPLUG YOUR MJ AND PLUG IT BACK IN AGAIN (TO RESTART THE MJ DIALER)". Follow those instructions and unplug your MJ dongle and plug it back it again.

6. You are now finished !!! Close the MagicRingForever tool window.

It works with the magicJack installed normally as per the manufacturer's instructions.

TOOL SYNOPSIS
MagicRingForever creatively allows you to enable/disable the standard voice mail timeout that occurs after 24 seconds to allow continuous ringing. This is accomplished by setting up a call forwarding infinite loop. This allows your phone to ring continuously by re-forwarding it back to itself instead of forwarding to voice mail.

NOTES
This particular tool is provided on an "as is" FREE courtesy "no expectations / no disappointments" basis only. While our plugin products and plugin tools have been intentionally designed from scratch to be within our control, MagicRingForever is completely different in that it is a separate standalone tool that makes use of "hidden" capabilities inside the magicJack dialer. You can now enjoy this popular "hack" as similarly used by other 3rd party software for FREE as long as magicJack continue to support these "hidden" capabilities in the magicJack dialer that make it possible.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Now, The best I can get is a non-infinite loop. After 12 or so rings it goes to a strange beeping signal. It is still good enough and allows for my Google Voice to answer the call.

Thanks! I look forward to trying some of PCPhoneSoft's other products.

Does the MagicFeaturesPlugin show caller ID name and phone on my phones? How does it work? Do I have to upload my contacts to MJ?

We just double checked on our in house thin client and can confirm that the current version does not work on XPe (XP Embedded). The initial version of the MagicRingForever release was tested on Windows XP/Vista/7.

The underlying issue is that XPe is missing some of the normal Windows components used by the current version of the tool. We are aware of ways to get around those shortcomings of XPe and will make sure the next release also works with XPe thin clients.

Release 1.01 of MagicRingForever that includes support for thin clients running XPe (XP Embedded) is now ready for download at http://tools.pcphonesoft.com .

When the tool has finished, just unplug magicJack dongle and plug it back in again to restart the magicJack dialer (or simply use the magicJack desktop icon to do so).

I downloaded the new version 1.01 of MagicRingForever onto my thin client with windows xpe and set my answering machine to 6 rings but whenever i tried to call the phone at 5 rings i would receive a busy signal, i had my wife call the phone and the same thing happen to her.

it appears there is still a bug with MagicRingForever when it comes to working with windows xpe.

It's definitely working on our in house thin client machine that runs XPe .

Remember all this tool does is create an infinite call forwarding loop that forwards your phone back to itself after every 3-4 rings. This is a very simple no frills tool and you are prompted to enter your 10 digit MJ phone number without any spaces or special characters.

If your calls are no longer going to voice mail after 4 rings and you are getting a busy tone instead of your phone ringing again, it really sounds like the tool did indeed work BUT that you may not have entered your 10 digit MJ number quite right. In this case, your call will forward off to whatever destination you specified after 4 rings instead of forwarding back to your MJ phone number and that is probably why you are getting the busy tone.

In any case, Release 1.02 has just been posted and we recommend you continue your testing with that release. It includes some very basic validity checking on the 10 digit phone number entered.

Release 1.03 of the MagicRingForever tool is available at http://tools.pcphonesoft.com .

Release 1.03 corrects an oversight that caused the tool to automatically run each time a computer restarts. It does not need to run after each restart and this has now been fixed.

You might want to try Release 1.04 recently posted at http://tools.pcphonesoft.com . It is definitely working for me on Windows XP/Vista/7.

When you see the initial user prompt "Do you want to Enable or Disable continuous ringing?" Double check and make sure you enter "E" or "Enable". When the tool has finished running, be sure to unplug your magicJack USB dongle and then plug it back in again.

If you still have challenges, unplug your magicJack USB dongle and then run the MagicRingForever tool. Plug the magicJack USB dongle back in when the tool has finished.

Not working on my thing client. Still goes to VM after 4 rings. It also installs to the ramdrive so it's gone once I reboot. It was working on my computer, but no longer works on the Wyse thin client.

For reference, my Neoware XPe thin client installs the program on the C drive. If your thin client forces it to the RAM drive, you can manually move it to the Programs Folder.

I was already using version 1.04.
This is the only program (so far) that installs to the ram drive
It seems to be working now by running it with MJ pulled out of the box.

Thanks

Know the Implications

Post by Dfdo »

I hope those novices who try this program know the implications of using it (correct me if I am wrong)

a) If you do not have an answering machine set-up, obveiously the phone will ring 'forever' !

b) Same call get loop back to your number every 3 rings (~18s), so if you have a caller ID phone you will see multiple 'missed calls' for the same call/number.

c) If you have call waiting caller ID enabled (with magicfeatureplugin or some other app) you will hear the beeps every 3 rings and MJ answering WILL NOT pick that call. So basically you will hear beeps 'forever' unless you pick it up in the middle of your current call (handset should have that facility) or the calling party hangs up !!
With this problem (c), the most annoying is the first BURSTING beep (with magicfeatureplugin), I really hope redpepper will try address that BURST (cranking sound!) problem and make that first one also a simple beep than a burst. (or did you say you have no control over that?)

You can remove the burst you are talking about by turning off the call waiting caller id feature in the Features Dashboard. It is the call waiting caller id transmission you hear and there is an option to disable it.

If you don't want any call waiting beeps you can also Disable Call Waiting altogether in the Features Dashboard. If you disable call waiting, incoming calls that arrive while you are already on a call will immediately be sent to voice mail.

The free MagicRingForever tool may or may not meet your specific needs. In the event it does not work out for you, the download includes an uninstall application.
