hey Alpman using this is better than using an unlocked router?? or which one uses less electricity? I need something extra because I don't want to leave my main pc on every day because it uses so much electricity.
another thing. from what I've read this computers doesn't use HDD. it uses 64 MB Flash with 128 MB DDR SDRAM. and it uses WIN CE which I never heard of or use it before . is this enough to run properly MJ??

I think you mean an unlocked ATA device. The ATA will use slightly less power, but you would still need to run some form of MJMD5 (MJPROXY), either via a router or another PC. Also there is the issue of obtaining your SIP info and maintenance to the ATA device. The recent updates have made it difficult to extract the SIP data. The regular tools used to do so no longer work. The thin client uses less than 15W and with my setup there is practically no maintenance. All mJ updates are saved automatically to disk, unlike most other TC's on the market.Ahkbal wrote:hey Alpman using this is better than using an unlocked router?? or which one uses less electricity? Which brings me to your next question. I have modified these TC's to work with mJ, replacing the 64mb flash with a 6GB MicroDrive (1" mini HDD in the Compact Flash form factor). They now run a custom build XPe SP3 image with Pagefile enabled and EWF disabled. You can read more about those features in my other posts, but basically this enables it to operate with lower memory requirements than typical thin clients and does not require you to save changes to disk.
So to answer your question, yes it is enough to run mJ properly using my image and configuration. As a matter of fact, used as a dedicated machine, mJ runs rock solid. Many have reported improved SQ and reliability versus their main PC. I have had very few issues with these machines and there are a number of members here who can attest to that fact.
I build each TC to order and fully test each one with a live mJ ensure that they work correctly before I ship them. I also offer a 7-day money back guarantee and will provide a telephone number for tech support or troubleshooting if needed. I will go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase, just ask the members who have purchased any of my TC's here on this forum.
I hope this clarifies things for you. If you have any further questions you can PM or email me. Thanks for your interest and I hope to earn your business.

Buy a TC from Alpman. He is right Mine has been rock solid and I just bought one for my parents and it is working perfectly. He has offered to helped several people on the forum, even when they bought a unit elsewhere. He helped me with my setup when I first got mine as well. To me that makes him a person worth dealing with. It will be 55.00 well spent or 45.00 if you don't mind scratch and dent....Alpman wrote:I think you mean an unlocked ATA device. Excerpt taken from another post...limitme wrote:How much memory do these have?
I remember reading someone posting that 256 works ok, but you really need 512 to have it run smoothly.
I of course, like anyone, want it to run smoothly.
"...HP T5520's available for the $55 price as a special purchase for forum members only. They will be configured with a VIA 800Mhz CPU, XPe SP2 on a 6GB MicroDrive and 128MB RAM (not upgradable on the t5520) with Pagefile enabled and EWF disabled. I have spent alot of time perfecting this low memory configuration and it has been an absolute rock solid performer as a dedicated mJ TC."
The key to low memory requirements on this TC is the fact that I am using a MicroDrive (1" mini HDD) instead of a flash drive and that Pagefile (virtual memory) is enabled. This allows much lower memory requirements, yet is very stable for mJ use. It performs great as a dedicated mJ machine, but really should not be used for any other purpose with this bare minimum configuration. I've sold nearly fifty HP t5520's with only one return, which was just a corrupt image and was repairable.
You can also read the following post. Alot of my customers have commented on the performance and reliability of my TC's...

I hope this answers all of your questions...

The post you are responding to is over 7 months old and Alpman used to sell on Ebay but not any more. You can still buy thin clients on Ebay, but probably not at that price.Constantinne wrote:
