I am running OS 10.6.1 on a MacPro
I have been getting a ;lot of complaints from people I call that they hear a beeping sound every few minutes when talking to me.
In addition my voicemail never sends me an email notification anymore.
I found this forum and the link to the latest upgrade (1.75.502c).
Hoping that this may fix some of the issues I am having I downloaded and ran this upgrade.
My old MagicJack software version was 1.70.415b. When I run the upgrade I get the new version, if I quit the the application, unplug the USB device, and then plug it back in, it wants to launch the old version (1.70.415b).
In short it does not appear that the upgrade actually wrote, or upgraded the application.
Can anyone help resolve this issue?
Thanks,
Steve

Don't check the version of the "Start MagicJack" program on the dongle.
Check the version of the softphone software, located at "/Users/your_username/.magicJack/Softphone/magicJack.app". You'll probably have to enable "Show Hidden Files" in finder, as files and folders starting with a period are, by default, hidden from view. Do a get info on that, and you'll see what version software you have. I checked, and like you, the software version number on the starter app on the dongle didn't change after the upgrade, but the softphone did.

I have had the beeping noise problem for about six months now...never had it before...there is a whole forum thread on this problem.PriorImage wrote:I am running OS 10.6.1 on a MacPro

Did it work when updated from the old version.
I wonder if I need to delete something in my utilities.
I would like to do a complete erase and reinstall of all my magic jack software to see if anything would help with the beeping and audio problems.
Here is the forum thread about the beeps.
