Ripoff Report-15 Pages Of Complaints
I don't think Toyota has had this many pages of consumer complaints. Sure glad to be using Ooma now and not having to roll the dice every time I need to use the phone. I call anywhere in America or Canada and never get a bill-ever! No computer needed to get super clear calls. Been 2 years now. This was the best spent $200.00 in my life. Sometimes you get just what you pay for and sometimes you don't. See what others are saying about MJ in these reports.

I don't think Ooma calls to Canada are free.

Enjoys a daily VOIP cocktail made from:
-One shot Magic Jack
-One shot TK6000
-One shot NetTalk Duo
-Two shots Ooma (it's bigger)
Shaken, not stirred.
Google Voice is the chaser.

For the majority of others that are tired of chasing a clear call, here's a good deal on Ooma.

hahahahaha!!-A shill? I love it. That's some funny stuff. No, I don't work for Ooma or anyone else. I'm retired and have no axe to grind and am not pushing Ooma on anyone. But, as word of mouth is their main form of advertising, I just like to tell people my own experience so far with this.
When I first got Magic Jack about 4 years ago, I also was telling people how good it was and what a great deal I had found but I was wrong. It started becoming a real problem as far as the quality of the audio. I started getting alot of complaints from people about the echo and the dropped calls and general distortion. I tried hard to fix the problem. I had, at one time, the email address's for 5 of their main tech support people as well as the owner Dan's. I was in contact with all of them and they all tried to get the thing to work right. At one point Dan sent me a new one for nothing but it too had audio problems.
Now, we checked my connections as well as the way it was setup. We tried everything to get clear calls and never did. It did work, but not without bad audio. Now, it could be that they have worked on this and that the audio is better but then why are they getting so many complaints?
If it works good then keep it. I have no idea on the way it sounds now as I have been with Ooma for 2 years. If you like it fine, if your having problems with it and want another option, I just say try Ooma. It works great, but then who knows about the future of any company right?

Ooma has their fair share of problems to. Their headset has problems from not holding a battery charge to not having all their promised features working yet. The telo was released to early and had problems with loose power adapters. For $200 plus dollars and $40 or $50 for the headset it should just work and not have problems like this. Their tech support is better than MJ's but has gone downhill big time recently. Their business model is even scarier than MJ's and they have borrowed more VC than they could ever hope to repay in this economy. If your happy with them that's great but at almost $300 it's not a deal by any means. Future nine at $13 a month and a free ata is much better as their business model is sound. Even nettalk is a better deal as you can get 3 of them for the price of one telo and one headset.
I have no idea about their headset. I don't use them. I also don't know or much care about their financial situation. It should be real good. All I know is that I paid $200.00 total for mine and that comes out to about $7.50 a month, so far, for crystal clear local and long distance calls. I've heard some say in the past that the problem I had with MJ may have been on my end but I have a high end computer with 12 mbps dl speed and 6 up. I never could make calls while doing big downloads and/or using a little extra bandwidth playing games. The audio would be bad.
The minute I plugged in Ooma all my phone call problems were history. The sound is better then my old land line. I have not had a phone bill in 2 years now and I can tell you what my experience has been and the difference I saw between the two systems. I also have no idea on the Ooma tech support as I've never needed to contact them.
If they fold up tomorro, which they won't, I'll have gotten my investment back easily. Who knows, maybe MJ will improve to the point where they can actually go head to head with the big phone giants. They definetly have them beat in price, now if they can just improve in other areas they could take the lead and I'd be happy to use them again. Maybe a low cost cell would be nice.
