No outgoing calls possible right now - April 16

Anyone else experiencing not able to make outgoing calls right now? I'm in the Boston area. Never had this problem before but I tried to make a call and once I finish dialing I get 3 beeps and then silence. I tried several numbers and got the same 3 beeps each time.

I tried restarting MJ and also disconnecting and reconnecting it and now I still get a dial tone but after I finish dialing there is just silence - no call is made.

I'm thinking maybe there's a problem on the MJ server side, but really don't know. This problem isn't mentioned in the Wiki FAQ.

Also, I tried calling inbound to my MJ from my cell phone and the MJ did ring. Strange!

Anyone else experienced this???

I dont get any beeps just a FAST busy signal when I make a call. I have to assume it is a server issue.. Let's see who else has the problem and what area they live in. I am in North East Pennsylvania..
Anyone else having problems??

I'm in D.C. My MJ is going crazy in the same way.

This is the first time I've every had any problems. For a while, I lost all incoming, too.

Forwarding is not good, and the portal is acting wacky.

Same exact problem here. I just posted a thread about it. Technical support said they are 'upgrading' their servers and to wait a few hours.

I cant receive any incoming calls or make outgoing calls (even though I get a dial tone)

Same here as this is a first for me in close to 2 years.. In my book that is not bad odds...

I was just coming here to find out if anyone else was having the same issue. I thought it was because I did something to the MJ putting in a resistor. I think I will go on MJ trouble shooting 'CS' and see if they know what is up.

I was pulling my hair a bit, because of bad timing. At first, it was only fast busy when I tried to check my vm. So, I asked chatty to reset the vm account. No big deal. After chat, I still can't check vm, and NOW I caouldn't send/receive calls. In my mind, it was the chatty's actions that fouled the rest of my service (because of the coincidence). I was getting a bit ticked off.

I was expecting a call, so I tried to go to the portal and forward, but the portal choked. Even when it finally let me enable forwarding, it wasn't actually forwarding.

Next, incoming started working, so I relaxed.

Once I relaxed, I checked here and found out I'm not alone. Now, I can really relax. I just wish I didn't fall for the vm red herring originally. LOL

I agree though, I can't complain about this rare outage.

I was getting quite chitty as well, as a friend had to call another landline to reach me as it was just giving him the fast busy when he tried calling, and when I tried calling out I got fast busy as well... Came here and seen I am not alone at least, so hopefully they will get this fixed asap..

EDIT - Forgot to mention Indiana here

Same for me here in CA - no incoming or outgoing calls are going through.

I get a fast busy after a long pause on outgoing calls.

I just tried it at 4:45 pm and was able to make a call ( cell phone voice mail and I was able to leave and then retrieve that message ok). Another call worked too, BUT, they heard me and I didn't hear them.
Sounds like it is getting there. I will try that same # later again.

Just tried to dial out and got fast busy. Incoming gets a "all circuits are busy". My server is in Salt Lake City.

I seem to be completely up. Calls are clear both directions.

I just came back from a short errand and see there's lots of people experiencing the same thing. Glad to learn I'm not alone with my MJ call issue.

This forum is really great for these types of situations in particular. Let's hope the server upgrade goes well

I can place calls again in Indiana and it seems to sound fine, however, incoming calls still arent working for me.

My server is also Salt Lake City. Just 3 beeps so far. I'm glad I kept basic service + long distance with my landline as a backup.

was on live contact for over an hour last night about incoming calls, and in the end they found a server problem, and would be working on it, and thanked me for alerting them (RIGHT

) about the problem....but got an incoming call from Romania around 9:30 EST that rang twice, and ended....after that I stopped getting busy signals on incoming call tests, and instead got: Sorry, but all lines are busy right now.....so at least someone doesn't think I'm on the phone for hours

As of this morning though, all incoming tests working fine and OK, so I guess they found the problem.

Back in the olden days of MJ, we had these outages nearly every weekend. This appears to be the first widespread outage in at least 18 months. Count yourselves lucky....

I have a 435 area code and can make calls to all but the 435 landline area codes. I am able to complete calls to all cell phone numbers (including 435), and all landlines except ones with the 435 area code. I have been working with MJ for 3 days (and 5 different people) on this problem and they never once mentioned that it seems to be a common problem at the moment.
