Pay$10 for XlitejackPlugin or buy $30 Pap2?

A friend gave me a Gizmo5 account and now I can use GV and MJ and X-lite to do you know what.

But to use my hand set and convince the females in the house that there is a REAL phone I need to keep using the Panasonic portable like we have for years. They don't mind the # dial number thing much but what I mind i having to worry that my PC stays up and running Windows all the time.

If I go for the Linksys Pap2 will I be able to use it in either Linux or W7 or does that bypass the computer?
