Email Audio Interference

Post by campanaro »

I notice today that I lost audio when I received A 1 meg email via Outlook. This happened on the laptop that I've got MJ hooked up to. I've 16 meg down on cable so I should have plenty of bandwidth. I have a secondary laptop. Am I better off just hooking MJ up to that or is there something I can do to make sure MJ has signal priority over other hardware. I tried a search dfferent search iterations but couldn't find any post on it. Must be using the wron keywords!

USUALLY when you D/L and are using MJ you MIGHT hear some choppiness on your end. HOWEVER if you are U/L the person you are talking to will hear it.
IF you want to search something here try QOS ( stands for Quality of Service) it helps to give priority to your VOIP over your other bandwith usage..........
Remember it is not the size of the file which is being d/l it is the amount of bandwith you are using to get that file. It will take whatever is avail if there is nothing to prevent it from doing so ( QOS).
Hope this helps and if I wasn't clear I am sure there are others on here who can explain it better ( because they know more than I do :)
