MJVista (F) icon when plugging into windows 7 op system

Post by DCDG »

I bought my laptop new with windows 7 installed. Now plugging MJ into it for the first time, it brings up a notice saying magicjack vista only (F), and I cannot do anything further. It has never done this on any of my other computers running xp, so it's nothing wrong with the MJ.

it gives an option to open folder to view files: then the files are: autorun (which won't run), and DON'T USE THIS DRIVE which also does not open.

trying to "run" the auto run file gives me this:
[AutoRun]
action="Start magicJack (Vista only)"
icon=magicJack\autorun.ico
defaulticon=magicJack\autorun.ico
label=magicJack (Vista only)
open=magicJack\autorun.exe
UseAutoPlay=1
shell\phone\command=magicJack\autorun.exe
shell\phone=Start &magicJack (Vista only)
shell=phone

[Content]
MusicFiles=0
PictureFiles=0
VideoFiles=0

[IgnoreContentPaths]
\
\magicJack

[DeviceInstall]
;DriverPath=

how can i get rid of this. i can install mj by using the upgrade file downloaded from their site, and it works, but as soon as i pump or touch the extension cord slightly, it breaks the connection and gives me the vista nonsense again.

could this computer have had vista installed previously (at the factory) and then had windows 7 installed (at the factory) ????

pls help.

thanks

Uh MAYBE stop using the extension cord as it causes more problems than it is worth.. Especially since it works until you touch it. Obviously it is defective. So don't use it and see if your problem goes away.
