I've been having a beautiful love affair with my Moto Droid set up with Google Voice. My GV number is set up in my Friends and Family so charges against my monthly allowance has been practically nil. Alas, it seems all good things eventually must come to an end.
The most recent update to the Google Voice app now routes each outgoing call from the cell phone to a differing connection number. This was done to improve the connection speed and supposedly improve service.
I wonder if I'm the only one who is unhappy with the "new and improved" version. Of course, with Google there's no one to contact. The work around is to log in to GV via the www and make the call from there, but that's klutchy at best.
Looks like I'll be making more calls with the Magic Jack once again.

FWIW, I was able to retrograde back to the previous version of the Google Voice dialer. At least for now, it works fine but there are rumblings Google will make this a permanent "improvement", with the result there will no longer be an advantage to using it with your Friends & Family plan.
There are work arounds but it they're a little klunky, as I mentioned.
