Contacts not downloaded; no 911 info

Post by don1carter »

For two days now I've been seeing the message: "Your contacts were not downloaded" and "not connected, no 911 info available." I restarted my computer and reinstalled MJ, but I still get the message. I can make calls OK. What's the issue here?

Same Problem and Can't connect to MJ Account

Post by DeadIntoIt »

I have Internet connection but when I try to go to my account page it times out.

I'm getting the same "Can't download contact list" and "No 911" Error messages. This problem started this morning. I was making and receiving calls last night just fine.

I'm on Windows 7 - 64 bit HP

I'm in Riverside county CA

I'm wondering if this issue may be an area related issue or possible a windows update related issue.

If you guys could state where you are and what kind of OS you're on maybe we could pin this down a little closer.

I can have a dial tone, can make out going calls, and receive calls. But I use the contact list quite a bit.

I'll be sure to post here if i find out what's happening here.

Also - are you able to login to your MagicJack account page?

This is a sorry reply but I can't find my notes from when I had the same problem. But I do remember that the problem for me was related to Internet Explorer. I use Mozilla Firefox, but when I started getting that can't download calls message, I noticed that Internet Explorer was not working right. I opened Internet Explorer, went into tools, then internet options and fooled around until I got Internet Explorer working properly, and the problem with Magic Jack vanished. Check out your Internet Explorer.[/size]

Thanks Don,

I use FireFox as default as well.

I just tried to load contacts again and tried to load my MJ Account Login page. No Go!

Then the notice of a reply to this thread popped into my inbox.

So I did as you suggested, opened "Internet Exploder", turned off the PopUp Blocker, changed my home page to load a blank page, deleted the cache and closed Internet Exploder by MicroSHAFT!

Unplugged and plugged the MJ USB back in, it loaded, then downloaded my contact list and no "911 number" error. . . . AND now I can load my MJ Account login page and login.

I have NO idea which action I took in IE did the trick, but it appears one of them did something that resolved a conflict.

Thanks for the reply my friend. I was heading for the "System Restore" to restore back beyond the last MS update. I always suspect possible conflict issues being caused by their "Updates".

Maybe if their piece of crap browser was not such an integrated part of their OS these things could be avoided all together.

I'M NOT A PC AND WINDOWS 7 WAS NOT MY IDEA

Thanks again,

Mike

hmmmmm - now I wonder it the timing issue was all just a coincidence.

Question "PCTECH4747" - you say you got ahold of magicjack on live chat. I tried the link (http://tinyurl.com/27pzpm) in the stickies in this forum and the page wouldn't load. It shows this error:

"Your request could not be completed because the account you are trying to reach is disabled."

The tiny URL resolved to this URL:
http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hcp/ht ... sable.html

So is there another Support Chat URL?

Sure would like to have it.

Thanks,

Mike
