magic jack windows 7 sound breaking up?

Post by smaerd58 »

Just installed fresh Win7 after using MJ on XP for 3 years now and I have a sound issue. While using the handset if anything is running on the computer such as AV Scanner,Opening files etc. the sound on the handset breaks up. When nothing is running it is fine. Has anyone come across this issue? Thanks,Rick

Ok I tried everything under the sun. Disabled CD autorun,Reinstalled software after MJ format. Removed all traces of MJ and reinstalled new upgrade 7,Changed proxy,Disabled USB Power down,Unplug from usb and plug back in over a Dozen times. Clone Router, Power Hub, etc-etc-etc. to no avail. Removed win 7 and reinstalled XP and no issues at this time. MJ needs to get bugs worked out better before moving on to Win 7. If you have a computer that you built or bought before 5 years ago may have issues. Recent build and you probably will have a smooth transition. just my 2 cents,Rick

That is why so many thin clients are used for MJ. They come with WinXPe. No one usually uses them for anything but MJ. They are cheap and run run cheap 24/7.

setup qos on the router + powered usb hub. I would recommend a ata and setup qos to give ata first priority. That is what i have and its perfect. Or use another computer/thinclient and setup qos.
