Audio does not work at all.

Post by mrolesen »

I can use magicJack to make someone's phone ring (though I don't hear the ringing), and they can make my magicJack phone ring (I do hear that). In either case, if the call is answered, there is no audio transmitted in either direction. I am able to hear a dial tone on the cordless handset I'm using. I'm also able to dial from that handset.

I've spent about 7 hours on the live chat tech support so far to try to get this working. I have UDP ports 5060 and 5070 opened. I've set the levels of volume in the magicJack phone interface and my system settings. I've installed the "upgraded" software from magicJack.

My set up is as follows:
Windows 7 64bit
Wireless 802.11n adapter and router
10mb/s cable internet
Graphics and audio sent to a TV via HDMI cable
MagicJack plugged directly into a USB 2.0 port at the back of the PC
Cordless phone base connected directly to magicJack w/ phone cord
PFPortChecker confirms UDP ports 5060 and 5070 are open
The handset is set as the default communications device w/ volume level at 100.

Does anyone have an idea of what's to do? I don't have another telephone to test. If I send the audio to the TV speakers, it behaves the same (incoming ringing works, no other audio is heard).
