Dialing 623

Post by heartlandpom »

 MJ will not let me dial any number that has a 623 in it, which is my areas number, like 812-623-2122 ex. I get a rapid busy signal that goes twice waits and then goes twice again etc.
I don't seem to have a problem with other codes other than the 623.

I am curious if you think you are the ONLY one having a problem and MAYBE do a seacrh to see if ANYONE else might be??
Had you taken the time to do a search you would have seen this post of THREE pages on the subject..

Lucky you!!!
Looks like you've found another small, rural telco that MJ sees fit to blacklist for whatever reason. As they are not a real telco, they are entirely within their rights to refuse interconnection with whomever they choose.

Try sending a plaintive message to [email protected] and see if he can be swayed.....
Good Luck

I cant even call my own mj line on my cell phone or any other line around where i live.

Sometimes it rings and sometimes it doesnt.

All MJ told me was some Telco companies are blocking lines.

You might be having other problems. For one if you are using the extension cord which came with the MJ, don't as it can cause MANY problems. Also check in device manager USB section to see if any ( there are more than one) USB ROOT HUBS are NOT set for power saving. If all else fails you may want to try a POWERED USB hub..

It never occurred to me that someone else might have this problem. If it had, I would have checked.

Other people are having the same issue and magicjack is claiming the telco's are blocking numbers but i think magicjack is blocking certain numbers so people cant call in. Ive been talking to magicjack over 20 times today and still no help.

I will contact them every single day until they resolve this issue.

Something tells me they're blocking incoming calls cause when i ask them if any telco's are blocking numbers they said it might be were not sure then they advised me to call my cell phone provider and tell them to open UDP 5060 and UDP 5070.

I said excuse me? You want me to call my cell phone provider and give them computer tech support? The agent said yes please.

Dude at SOME POINT you have to realize they are worthless and only reading from a script... This forum is your one and only hope to get help..
TRUST me when there is a fix or a WAY to fix it your will read it here WAY before MJ "techs" have a clue.

No no issues with incoming calls at all here, sorry. BUT then I have a POWERED USB hub, I am NOT using the extension cord which came with the MJ, my USB ROOT HUBS are not set for power saving mode..

This is what i got from their scripts.

Telco is blocking numbers.

Contacting your phone provider and ask them if they're blocking calls to magicjack.

Our engineers are looking into it.

Contact your phone provider and ask them to open UDP 5060 and UDP 5070.

Thats all i got from them so far.

Well Joe been with them since March 2010 and ive used the dongle and never had any issues till now. They upgraded the software and now this issue with this telco business. Doesnt sound like a magicjack usb issue sounds like an issue with the people at magicjack.

But im very happy to see i'm not the only one having issues here as i get a few pm's with others stating they have the same issue.
