I THINK the rule of thumb is 4 moves and your contact list will be safe, I am just guessing :)
Sorry to make light and since I know how bad things are for you right now this was the last thing you needed.. When you finally get settled shoot me off an email with your new #, or since it is MJ I assume it will be the same? Damn if I ONLY had a way to write it down with some sort or writing device and not store it on my non existent contact list :).. Oh well.

Joe Sica.
I intend to keep the same MJ Fla #! I wrote your #'s down this time. I'm making a written list as I add this time. Just hope I dont loose it in the move.
No, you will just leave the list in PA :)

yeah... 20 bucks a YEAR great. But how hard would it be for MAGIC CRAP to actually tell us to write down all our numbers before they upgraded and lost everything?

Don't you think they could have put a WARNING out on the right side of the screen to please write down all your contacts before pissing off 50000 customers? I'm sure most MJ users are just waiting for it to come back. I wonder if they ditched the contacts on the server idea?

So... What the NEW way to backup and restore your contacts? I'm not going to make another list till I can find out how to do a backup and restore...

Magic Crap sucks ass. Customer service sucks. yeah, I've been with them for about 3-4 years... and I'm not sure if I'll renew with them in another year or so...

Wouldn't it be obvious to warn people to write down all the contacts BEFORE they made the bone head decision to just wipe them out for good? Thankfully I have my important calls tied to good voice. and all the numbers received sent and missed calls have all been recorded!

I agree but unless they allow OUR contacts to reside on OUR PC again, a pen and paper is the only backup we can have.

My only problem is... who do I go with besides MJ? I would never go with vonage. Don't need international calling and I don't need to pay 25 a month for that. Rather just use a cellphone. Maybe that one that plugs into a cat5 cable. Can't remember what it's called T1000 or something like that. If they are still in business I may go with them. Even tho paying the 99 up front is a bit much even if it lasted a few years it would be worth it.

What's really sad is... I made a few phone called with the Less Bugs and Such a great update... I was making calls and getting quotes for new tires and I heard the dreaded "BEEP" noise. It was talking with a male not a female that your normally get them. But it was the first Beep I've heard in a VERY long long time. So much for LUCKY YOU!

Lost my contacts a few days ago. I had my magicjack unplugged for a few hours (since they got rid of my favorite feature: Do Not Disturb) and when I reconnected all my contacts were lost. Still hasn't been fixed, but I did notice an upgraded this morning. Glad I'm not the only one as I assumed it was just my faalt.
Can you hear me now??

Just a heads up... I restarted my MJ today and my contacts are all there.... :) Now how do you back them up in version 2.0??????? Or do you just gotta write them down? I surly do not trust MJ anymore to keep my phone numbers safe.

If anyone know the procedure please do tell!

YEP for now, pen and paper or multi screen saves...

From what I read the makers of MagicFeatures are making an add on to do just that, back up our contacts. No ETA or if it will even work with MJ 2.0. I am sure redpepper will announce it here if and when it is ready. Right now they are working to make their MagicFeatures MJ 2.0 compatable.

I really like the service I get from sipgate. Outgoing calls are .02/min and I can readily use it to send faxes. There's no monthly fee, and although I don't really use it that often, it works with Google Voice so I can don't have to pay at all.

I think when I was using it with my MJ and XliteJack plug-in from pcphonesoft, I would average around $1.50 a month, maybe.

I only mention it because we're on the topic of losing contact lists and they seem reliable so I have many of my contacts in their system.

Is there a way to change the color and font size in the Contact and calls list? That pea green is terrible and hard to read.

Doesn't appear to be no.... Unless one of the smart guys on here finds a hack to do so... Can't seem to do it natively via MJ alone...
