World of Warcraft and Magicjack

Well, long story short. I love WoW and I love magicjack. How ever I have tried everything I can do from not letting magicjack minimize the game.. I aready have that Magicsilence plugin and when someone calls me.. say im in the middle of a raid my game gets minized then back up then minimized in that time the person either hung up on me or the program crashes it also will make it so I cant open WoW back up.

If anyone else plays wow they will understand how much of a pain this is.. I stopped using MJ for a good 2-3 months cause of this.

Oh my gosh! My friend had that same exact problem. I still have yet to try magic jack, but the one who introduced it to me did mention something about getting booted off her Star Trek MMO. She mentioned that one of the things that helped was to keep her game slightly minimized. It didn't screw up her game as much and she was able to continue with missions.

Believe me...she actually screamed when she got kicked out of a ship mission. LOL!!! Alas, it was fixed and now all is well. ^^

I'm not familiar with Magicfeatures to know if their "Do Not Disturb" function will help you out. It is something you can check into.

I am not technically sure why Magicsilence does not work out for you but that is completely irrelevant based on your comments.

The alternative options you tentatively have available are:

1. Set up a separate user account on your computer that is dedicated to run your magicJack

2. Set up your magicJack to run as a service as per the instructions found in other threads in this forum.

Use max windowed mode with wow;
-Go into your WoW options
-select video option
-on the resolution tab, click on "windowed mode"
-Also choose "Maximized"
-Click apply
-Click OK


Your issues should go away now.

I know this is old, but I thought id like to shine down some thought on this just incase someone else has had these problems.

I dont know how many people play WoW, but I run lots of raids, and my framerate gets cut in half from 60-30fps just from running in window mode, and when you 24 other people in the raid casting spells and the effects of the boss and such. Sometimes i'll drop as low as 20fps...now, I know i dont have a top of the line gaming pc. But I do not want to get other people in the raid killed just cause of my phone program, im a dedicated tank healer.. sooo yeah........ even to this day, im still having this problem and I refuse to run window mode.
